West Ham United has expressed interest in purchasing the London Olympic Stadium after the 2012 Olympics.
Mayor Ken Livingstone had appeared to rule out the possibility on the grounds that the IOC would not allow a change to the terms of the winning bid, which included a detailed proposal for the future use of the ground for track and field events.
Sebastian Coe, however, commented, "We have never ruled out a Premiership club, but we have always made it very clear that a legacy for track and field is a serious part of the Olympics in London.
