The Australian Department of Defence has said a 400-strong Reconstruction Task Force (RTF) has been deployed to Afghanistan to help rebuild the war torn country. In a statement the department said, “The advance party will focus on preparation of base facilities and logistic support infrastructure.” The Task Force will consist of 240 engineers, who will be protected by 150 infantrymen with a fleet of armoured vehicles.
