Bristol Cars has announced the company is to produce an eight-litre handbuilt production car with an engine capable of 1,012 horsepower. The Bristol Fighter T has top speed of 270mph, although the company says this will be limited to 225mph on production vehicles.

Managing Director Tony Crook said, “A lot of people have come to us and said ‘I want even more power’ so that’s what we’ve done.”

Less than 20 cars will be produced. The first Bristol Fighter T is expected to be ready in September 2007 and will cost £350,000.
